What to bring when moving from USA

Post new topic

Hola!  My Porteno husband, 2 American sons and I are moving to BA for 18 months.  I have so many questions, but for now, any info on:
1. What should we bring? We have to buy older son clothes for the cold - should we buy in US or there?
2. Have any of you shipped from abroad low-cost items like toys, clothes, vitamins?
3. Anyone with young kids. All advice sought!

My 2 and almost 6 year old boys and I are not fluent but my husbands family and friends live in belgrano and colegiales.  We will try to find bilingual schools. And classes for me.

Thank u!

Buy clothes in the US! They are so much cheaper! I am living in Belgrano at the moment and I am really regretting not bringing enough clothes. A simple shirt can cost upwards of 40 dollars here. So definitely bring all the clothes you need from the states.

As for the other things, I am not sure, but I have heard that it it is really difficult to ship certain items over.

Hi andando
Clothe items is really expensive here. I can connect you for spanish lessons. Transfer and housing if you need. Car and furniture you can bring them , if used, with no restriction.
American and British school are expensive. Try to negotiate a compesation in your contract. The bulk of american community is in Palermo area. I am at your service.
