East or west coast of Italy

I am planning the route down to Pozzallo and down to Brenner there is no problems, i think!

From Brenner i can choose the "cheaper east coast or the "faster" west coast.

The downside with the faster route is roadtax!

Is there any experience on the forum on the cost of roadtax in Italy? The Swedish drivers association made a warning on that Italy is a minefield to drive in! Enviroment zones porly marked can cost you up to 1000e in fines.

Any experience of other hazards when driving in Italy?

Thanks

Tomas,

Its not as bad as they make out, there are charges and these total approx €200 or so, the most expensive i found was the initial part of Italy from Mont Blanc through to Livorno. (€80 excluding MB tunnel)

East Coast is really Nice but the West is Very fast and you will be at the crossing to Sicily very quickly

Hi Julian

Thanks for the advice. The cost for Brenner pass is only 8.50e so i think we go for the faster west coast route then! Our 4 bedroom penthouse is now compressed in to a 9 cubic meter trailer! It will be a slow ride anyway so a faster route feels like a option!

hopefully you have a Blowup Jacuzzi there for Summer BBQ season :)

No jacuzzi but a 125cc 6 speed gokart. 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and top speed of 175 km/h! Ferarri or a Lamborghini dont make any difference, they screwed when it comes to acceleration!

Hillclimb this year Julian?
