Looking to visit and move after college

Post new topic

dream 2015

I am new to this site so, I would like to give a little background information about myself. I am a 21 year old black male looking to move to Buenos Aires in summer(U.S.) 2015. I will be finishing up my last year of college with spring and a few weeks after graduation I would like to come on a 1 month visit. I am an Entrepreneur (own a food cart) and I am working on possibly doing something in music. I have taken intermediate Spanish, so my Spanish is decent but could use some work. I am a pretty minimalist person, so I don't plan on bring much with me but clothes and money. I just had a few questions.

1. About how much in US dollars would I need for a month visit? I know the current exchange rate is a little over 5 to 1, so would 1,000 or 2,000 be enough?

2.Besides passports and birth documents, what are some other things I need to prepare to have before visiting and moving.

3. I have read that it's hard to start a business in S. America, are expat entrepreneurs frowned upon, if so I don't have a problem trying to work for a company until I am more fluent in the Argentina style of Spanish

4. How much would I need to live a few months comfortably until I can acquire work.

Hello,

You know there is another way to change money for better rate, nowadays about 1 to 8 instead of 5 point something.

Expenses would cost you about $4,000 for small studio including everything, and another 4 for living. Surely depending on your style.

I am a foreigner and i think finding job here is not easy. Specially if you are not from here, and your language is not perfect. BTW i am thinking of a food business here.

For the documents i am not sure. wait for others answers.

Good Luck!

thanks for the reply, I have heard from another blog about the other exchange rate. Also after reading a couple more post on here I see it isn't easy to get a job, I will just have to ask around and research that as I get down there I think. I'm also looking at Medellin, Colombia if you know anything about living there vs. Buenos Aires that would be great.
