Places to visit in Mauritius

Post new topic

Julie

Hi,

For the ones living in Mauritius, what would you suggest to discover the country?

When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Mauritius, the tourist sites?

How to visit the country in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?

What would you suggest for a couple of days of for a week of holidays in Mauritius?

Thank you in advance for participating. ;)

Go to Blue bay marine park near the airport for a snorkling experience. that should not cost u more than RS 1,000 total for four persons. if they ask for more u shud bargain. .  Snorkling kits and gilet de sauvetage are provided.

next time u can just swim to the park but ensure you are visible to pleasure boats.

from there u shud go to Pont naturel. Absolute thrill guaranteed on a windy day.

The full day zipline package at Casela! Completely unexpected landscape e.g. with a swim through a canyon and so much fun! We had a great time when my family visited last time!

Port Louis veg & meat markets! Real eye opener to anyone from Europe.

Any beach on a Sunday where you can join in a sing song with some local Mauritian family and their guitar player!! :)

Also there's sometimes a guy on Mont Choisy beach with a big pet lizard thingy! he's really friendly!
