Any expats living in Clark Field?

Hi Irina,

We were just there the other day. Is it right to presume that you are there because of work? I will try to see how I can hook you up with local expats there. There are actually a lot of expats in that area, but mostly retired veterans. Let me know where you are situated so I can see how I can introduce you to some friends.

Email me your phone number so I can help you. Are you staying in a hotel? a condo? how long will you be staying there? Let me know so I will be able to navigate  you around even if I am here in the South area. Any plans of traveling south?

Thank you very much for your reply.To be clear with you,I don't know for the time being what I will be doing there.

What I can say is that recently I applied for some interesting jobs among hundreds available in bestjobs.ph and also sent my Cv to DENCOM CONSULTANCY.
They used to call,email me and I even made some interviews by phone. It was not easy, so people advised me to try my best coming there because things could always be unsuccessful if I persist in staying so far to manage things.This is how I decided to come.I have some (job) rendez-vous and a few persons to meet during my stay,of course I'm not forgetting you!!

Concretly I myself I don't know anybody there but I had a nephew you worked in Manila before and now lives in Germany who intrusted me to a friend,a family if I can say,in Manila.They will take me in for moment and maybe after if things are alright (I hope they will),I will find a house to rent.

There are a large number of expats living in and around Clark and Angeles.  Check out LivinginthePhilippines, a Yahoo group (over 15,000 members) and website. 

Many of the expats are retired American military who once were stationed at Clark (but not all) and the American veterans organizations have some of the best resources for expats. They can help you out with all sorts of immigration, legal, medical and other advice, and they are more than willing to help any expat head in the right direct.  Look in particular for the RAO or Retire Affairs Office.

Yes, there are some more iffy expats attracted to the x-rated activity of the area (greatly reduced as it is from the time of the bases), but many are successful business people with extensive family and community ties to the community and it is the latter that have built up the expats organizations and veterans clubs.
