Hi everybody,

Are we allowed to bring cash ? If yes, what is the maximum amount ?

Bahrain is a free and open economy. You can bring in reasonable amounts of cash based on what you would need. What you would need to live comfortably until the first pay is reasonable.  Its difficult to place a dollar value, since each person will have different needs.

If you bring in a huge amount of funds, make sure you have proof of source/origin of funds, because Bahrain is tightening the screws on money laundering. As an indication, local banks report deposits of BHD6,000 (approx. USD15,800) and above to the Central Bank.
