Hei. I am a PhD holder in Polymer Engineering and now looking for a job in Norway. I would like to kindly ask that is there any useful way for me to find a job there?

I am now relying on the finn.no website and unfortunately there are not many jobs related to my field. I am actually interested in working in the R&D field in oil & gas, but not sure whether they are willing to hire someone with no experience in that. I have sent out many applications and the replies were negative. I guess because if I am going to work there, I would need to apply the residence permit and working visa.

I wish to get some advice from you. Takk!

perhaps while you are hunting in Norway you can get some more experience in your home country to be more attractive tot he Norwegian market? I also recommend checking linkedIn- Norwegians seem to like posting jobs there. I'm working in IT and I get an email every week that's full of companies that want to hire.

also check the consulting firms like Multiconsult. They have lots of phd holders on their staff.

Actually I am currently working in Italy as a Postdoctoral researcher. My contract is going to end soon and thus, I am looking for a job in Norway. I will try to search in linkedin and multiconsult.

Hello,

I was going to suggest that you consider a post-doc position in Norway (which offers a better salary than post-docs get in many countries). I think they are always looking for engineers in the higher education sector, and not speaking Norwegian will generally not be a problem. I don't know if that's something you would be interested in though.
