Post new topic

skumars25

Dear friends & fellow forum participants,

I am kumar from chennai, india and i am working in the IT field for more than 8 years now. I have been to singapore, malaysia & hong kong and working there for few years.

I am thinking of relocating to Dubai and i am exploring the options. I would like to know the work visa procedures for employment in Dubai.

I have not completed by graduate yet (3rd discontinued) and i have 8+ years of experience in the IT field.

can you please guide me whether i would get the dubai employment visa? or what are the educational requirements for dubai employment visa?

thanks for your response in advance.

Julien

Hi,

did you have a look to the guide ?

Another question on a related topic.  My husband has a job in Dubai, and his company are putting together a residency application for him.  I understand that until this is done we theoretically can't rent a house, register our car, or send our children to school.

We are moving from Saudi our residency here took about 6 months to process.  What are peoples experiences on how long this process takes in UAE, is quicker and less painful than in KSA?

Hi Alethe, welcome on Dubai forum then! :)
I'd say all depens how efficient the guy in charge of administrative procedures in the company of your husband is!
I remember it went quite fast for my husband's back in 2008.
Can't answer for your other questions though: my husband's company is paying for the rent and the car!

We have allowances but the contracts will need to be in our names.  In KSA they also say none of these can be done without residency, but in reality both school and compound were willing to be more flexible because they knew my husband had a good job and the paper work had been lodged.

Hi all,

@ Iskumars25, im sure you will need a degree to work in Dubai and if not they will offer you less salary but then it depends on the company, its defo a no no for goverment and semi govenment.

@ Alethe, you can't function in the UAE wihout a visa, find out if the company will be offereing some kind of temp accommadation while your appliaction is being proceesed, as for schooling, you guys should be ok, my daughter was in school for nearly a mth without a visa, they are understanding here.
