New to Bahrain and looking for work

Post new topic

Hi there folks,
I've just arrived in Bahrain. Got myself a flat in Juffair ( about 50 yards away from "Rocky,s Cafe").
First priority is a Job. I am 56 years old and normally work as a Construction Manager/Supervisor. I would imagine that Bahrain is similar to most outer places regarding work - It's who you know that's important. So folks where are the best places to hang out to meet expats to have a few beers and maybe make a few contacts in the Construction Industry.
I am also visiting various construction sites and handing out CV's. Any help or advise would be gratefully appreciated

Hello there and welcome to the forum.

I would start by visiting some of the expat clubs such as British Club, Rugby Club, Dilmun Club etc. you will find many expats there if you visit them. If you tell them you are considering a membership but first would like to see the atmosphere, they will let you in

Also, keep an active profile on the forum. Many of us have met each other through this forum.

Thanks for the advise.
I'll start making the rounds shortly.
Regards
Rory
