I have been told that foreigners who own a company do not need to have work permit but they have to apply for a certification to prove that? Is it true?

It is stubborn somehow if it is true cos they can show their invest paper.

Thanks for the information Charma.

It is for 2 groups of people who will need work permit:
1. Expats who are employed
2. Expats who go to Vietnam for the other purposes sale representatives,..

The other group of people who do not need work permit
1. Owner of 2 member limited company
2. Owner of 1 limited company
3. Volunteers, experts who will stay under 3 months
...
My question is about people who do not have work permit. The answer is they must have a certification telling that you do not have work permit.

This law has been ruled for many years but not many people know this and policemen haven't checked it. No matter if you have Invest papers, you can be fined if you don't have this certification.

This must be made in the province/city the company locates in.

@ Chama: You are welcome.

This is the procedure to ask for a confirmation about not having work permit:

1. Filling some forms from this link: Forms

2. Legalize your passport, investment paper/invitation from organizations/ companies,.. and apply to Labor Department.

Done!
