Thinking of buying a scooter to get from home (Mosta) to work (Pembroke).  Is this a feasible way to travel or will I be likely to die!

ricky

Hi Sarso,

that will depend on yourself !

As a car driver used to driving in Malta,Germany ,UK and several other countries I have never experienced so many suicidal bike riders as in Malta. And they are not all Italians.

But it is dangerous even if you stick to the rules, don't weave in and out of traffic and keep your eyes open all the time. Mosta to Pembrooke in rush-hour traffic is one of the worst routes.

Cheers

Is the traffic generally terrible in rush hour around the Pembroke area? Also, roughly how long does it take in rush hour traffic between these two places? Thanks Sarah

Spiridonov

Traffic generally terrible in rush hour all over Malta :)

Mosta - Pembroke takes 20 minutes if you are lucky and up to 40 if you are no so. The shortest way via Naxxar is just one line road in every direction, so you have no big chance even to overtake some cars with your scooter
