Moving to Norway Working-Holiday Visa

Post new topic

Hey,
Sam here

Im from New Zealand and have just got a working holiday visa for Norway for one year.  I want to know how hard it will be getting a job in hospitality (like bar work, Hotels etc) or other basic jobs if you can only speak English?

I am on Babbel trying to lean a bit of norwegian, can speak some basic words but not many. The city I want to move to is Oslo?  If i do go I plan on doing  norwegian courses and try to speak it as much as possible to improve.

can anyone give me a bit of advice if I would be able to get a job without speaking norwegian? Is it going to be impossible or am I being unrealistic?

If anyone has from Norway or someone who has been in the same situation could give me any feedback, I would be so grateful!

Thankyou

albjornstad

Sam, it will be very difficult for you to find a job in the service industry without speaking Norwegian. It is not impossible, though. A very good way to start is to visit www.finn.no (a popular website for job seekers and employers)
