Moving to Germany - seeking recommendations on cities/places/work/etc

Post new topic

Hallo, guys!
I am "seriously" planning to move to Germany next year. I look forward to exploring diversities of life in this big country, and restarting my career here. I will be very happy to meet new friends and enjoy the multi-cultural lifestyle.

A bit practical issue: any recommendation on cities, places, work places, etc. you may have?

I have an IT background (mostly in academia so far). I speak intermediate level German, and am actively "torturing" myself to get it fast. I prefer works for development, helping people or preserving environment (e.g. in NGOs, NPOs, start-ups, or anywhere else with the aforementioned impact).

I prefer lively urban lifestyles than the quiet countryside.

So any advice or tips? or just say hi (or Hola,  你好, Guten Tag!, Bonjour!  Moi!)

Are you an EU national?
If not, you should read about the Job Seeker Visa. Without that (or marrying a German), it would be very difficult to get a work permit.
