Hi everyone !

I am Julie, 22 years old, from Belgium. I am currently studying environmental management at Cranfield University (United Kingdom). At the same time, I am learning norwegian in order to increase my employability in Norway.

I am searching for opportunities in the country, internship or graduate schemes for this summer (or September 2015).
If you have any ideas or contacts for me that would be interested in giving me the chance to live my dream to live in Norway, please feel free to contact me ! :-)

Tussen takk,

Julie

Job opportunities are most often available on finn.no.
Personally I get a lot of job offers from linkedin so I would recommend creating a profile there and look for job opportunities among companies you may be interested in.

I cannot provide much more help as I have no idea what environmental management is :)

I have created a linkedin account 4 monthes ago and set my location to oslo but didnt get any offers.
May be im not used to linkedin yet, should i join groups or follow companies to get offers ?
Or what to do. Im really confused setting it corectly.

What is your skillset? Mine is related to IT and I am registered to a few groups that relate to it.

LeitoSR

My skillset related to IT field as well,
Can you send me the name of the groups in a message ?

This is the only one apparently (I don't use linkedin much).
System Administrator (Windows Linux Unix Apple VMware Oracle EMC Cloud SAP SQL CRM Cisco ITIL SAN)

Before you move let me warn you, start of the year would be the best moment, hiring process takes 3 to 6 months (unless special cases), your english needs to be near-perfect (take the cambridge test to certify it if possible), norwegians with similar skillsets will take precedence over you.

hi italyinnorway.

is it even possible to get a job in IT without knowledge of their language?

i am a programmer,  and looking for jobs in Norway. i am fluent in english but dont speak norwegian.

i had tried some job posts in LinkedIn,  but was told that its only offered to "locals"..   altho i know another possibility of the rejection is because im frm a country that requires a visa. but if i will be able to acquire a visa for norway,  how difficult is it for a foreigner professional to get a job in norway?

thanks and all the best.

I haven't been getting direct emails from jobs, but I get an email every week with open positions in the Oslo area. Perhaps your email settings from linkedin are not sending this to you?

Thanks alot for the name, i've sent a join request and now waiting approval.
And of course i would take my time before moving in, im learning norwegian at the moment, but i want to keep intouch with the companies and get an idea of what skills needed the most on the market.
My English is good, and yes i am working on taking the cambridge ietls test within this year thanks for your advice. :)
