I am a single female coming from Canada, and have lived in the Middle East previously (Kuwait) but am a little apprehensive about coming to KSA. I was given the option of working in Al Jouf or Tabuk in a University, or in Riyadh or Khobar, working in an English institute...because I have never visited here before, I am looking for a place to live that has a lot of expats, and preferably in a compound where there are amenities (a health club is a MUST!!) ...any suggestions, please!!! Needing some advice!

Hello Pamski and welcome to Expat.com!
I'll move your topic to KSA's forum; you'll get a better chance for adequate responses :)

Hi Pamski,

If I had a choice of those cities, I'd definitely pick Al Khobar.  Riyadh and the other cities you mention are much more conservative.  And besides, in Al Khobar it's not a big deal to jump over to Bahrain!

Best of luck.

Welcome to the Kingdom, and Khobar is definitely the right option to go with.

Good luck,

Ramon,
