Permesso di soggiorno

Hello!

I am a bit confused about permesso di soggiorno webpage. I applied to renew my permesso 1 month ago and they said that they will send me a message in 40 days when the card is ready. Time to time I was checking the online system to see the situation and it was saying "in progress" and later "in discussion". Today I checked it and it gives this message "Il documento di soggiorno non è presente in archivio./ This residence permit is not present in the archive." Is it a normal message when they give before sending message or should I just go to questura and check if everything is alright?
