Hi,

maybe someone has any ideas what fun you can do, see or visit from 5pm in KL?  some tourist spots already done: Petronas Towers, Aquaria, Menara Tower, Petalling street, Lake Gardens, Jalan Alor, Batu Caves. Maybe someone could recommend something a bit further from the center? Is there some fun activities you can do, visit or see after work?

Fred

The towers are out - you have to be there very early.

Petalling street is a night market.
Keep your bag very close - pick pockets a plenty, and the guys offering very cheap DVDs if you follow them down the alley aren't selling DVDs.

NEVER buy from the first stall - always go to the second, telling them the last guy offered you the same thing at half the price they want.
Keep doing that as you walk down the street until they all tell you you're a liar - then you have the real price.

The police museum is boys' toys, but you might enjoy it.
I loved it, still have the high quality polo shirt I bought there.

Fred

Jalan Alor is somewhere you look at as a tourist, wonder where there are so many cats, then realise when you see them chasing the rats.
You wonder where anyone sane would eat there, then you try the food and wonder why you didn't eat there first night.

Patauska

yes Fred, I have been there already. Just wet and ordered the ticket for the next day.

Gravitas, maybe you know if it is possible to catch a boat to fireflies watching without ordering whole tour which is 5-7 hour and cost at least 300RM? Maybe there is less expensive way to see them?

rotiplanta

you can go i-city at night to see some lights, its located at Shah Alam, takes around an hour from KL on normal traffic condition.

Sunway Lagoon theme park, located at Sunway Area where you also can go sunway pyramid for shopping.(however i doubt sunway lagoon is suitable for night. 45 mins from KL

Thean Hou Temple, 30 mins from KL, where you can also go to Mid valley shopping center(5-10 mins drive from temple)

rotiplanta

its only 30 min ride, cost less than RM 20, refer to this site,

You can take the bus from Pudu Sentral (Puduraya) bus station which is a 10 minute walk from Jalan Alor. It does not take you to the boat jetties, but you can probably get a local taxi.
