Shorouk

My pepper plants are still giving hot peppers.

Shorouk

I really should move some of them inside, before the first frost comes:P

I think they may last year round based on how good they still look.

lol

yes it's been quiet, I think many expats have been waiting for the trolls to move on... :P

Shorouk

I think you may be correct with your observations.

The good thing is most expats understand the troll was an exception to the standards of normality within Egypt.

I sort of miss trolling for the catch of the day.

Shorouk

It's not quiet here, around my neighborhood, as i have been trying to quit smoking after forty two years of the nasty habit its truly and addiction of the worst kind.

Mariposa_Voice_for_Peace

Wow. forty two yrs? that would definately be hard to break... Good luck. :)

Eypicanmeraty

oooh that is along time I hope you will succeed. I tink walking outside in Cairo is enoug smoke for anyones lungs ;)

suzana

hello shorouk;

42 years & still trying to quit? it remind me with the story of a palmist is reading the future for a guy , he told him you have a 20 years of misery ! the guy asked and after ? the palmist said you will get used to it :sosad:
42 years of smoking should prove that all what they say about somking damage is a rumors ?
i have been smoking 4 about 20 years now i quit 3 times & not trying anymore, but of course i wish that you can , i think to quit this habbit u must be in a real need to stop"t.
anyway i have read in a herbs book that sun flower seeds "yes, the one that parots eat" is verey good to make you hate smoking, i tried"t it, it realy works & helped me to cut dowen a lot,but may be i don"t have a real wish to stop, try it if you couldn"t
find it , let me know,
all my best wishes for you

Thebigtuna

Good luck with your attempt to quit smoking, shorouk. My grandfather is 80 and he quit after 60 years. The only problem is that after two years he started smoking again :(

just one thing you should pay attention to. It's spelled "quiet". The word "quite" means something different :)

Geely

then you should pay more attention to your own text! It's spelled "Good luck" and NOT: good look.
we all make mistakes, so let it be, you did understand what he meant, right?

suzana

thanks god we are not at the AUC exam :/

Shorouk

I'm doing ok with the smoking issue from four packs a day down to smoking under ten cigarettes a day. have stopped a couple of times in the last two weeks once for three days and once for two days.My body seems to be adjusting ok thus far ,but my mental state is another issue. along with the nasty headache.

I'm good when i have work to do, or something i can focus on and be busy in a positive fashion with.

I want and need to stop for me as a person and i see how it affects my other family members also.

Thebigtuna was caught and grilled by geely lol

Suzanna

Its hard to stop and easy to slip back into the old routine or methods of behavior that positions us on the path to picking up again.I really don't care much for fruit and nuts.

Haha. That's what happens when you go too long without sleep.

Yes, we all make mistakes.  My spelling was a one-time mistake. I know the difference between the two words, but I was tired and typing on a phone. But with him it's a case of having two similar words mixed up/somebody teaching him the wrong word. I was just trying to help him out telling him the right one to use.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't telling him because I like telling people about their mistakes. I was just trying to help. In the future he might be in a situation where how good his English is is important, and the people he's dealing with might not "let it be" so easily.

suzana

hello shorouk ;

i know what you'r going through , as i tried many times my selfe
the thing is when i was cutting dowen , i think all the time about count of cigarrits i had and engoy the taste of it , this sunflower seeds change the taste and makes you dont realy want another one that fast &don"t feel nervous, i dont know why may be it cotains some nicotien ,

suzana

Who

Hope the peppers are flowering :P

Re; smoking, here's a link to a book with a wordy title :/
Changing for Good, by James O. Prochaska

I came across this during a - now shelved - brief flirt with the wellness industry .. and has accolades including - best results at the NHS (UK) Smoking Cessation program.

It strolls through 6 stages of Change Readiness .. and web search will get you more info.

I would have loved to bring it to ya - but just can't find it in the turmoil.
