Hi,

Moving abroad is an adventure for both parents and children: settling overseas is a challenge for each family member.

How was the move to Malta for your kids?

How did they manage to adapt to their new environment?

Share with us your experience and advice on settling in Malta with children.

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

We moved to Malta in June this year with our 2 kids, 4 and 8 and I have been amazed how well the kids have coped. We are lucky to have family already here and have been visiting for years so that clearly helped but kids are so adaptable I feel as long as you keep a solid routine and involve them in some way with decisions along the way they adapt quickly. Sometimes quicker than the parents. Summer school was a challenge for my 4 year old as he is used to a preschool in the uk with time filled with toys and fun whereas his age group at summer school there wasn't as much to keep them entertained. School is also going to be a challenge for him as he jumped to year 1 which is going to be a bit more work based rather than the uk reception which is still pretty nursery orientated.

Overall my kids have settled very well and we are looking forward to them starting school next week
