Transport system in Malta

Post new topic

Rishikesh

Hi, I hope this goes to the right topic.

How much is a taxi from and to Airport, one way?
For example, one way from Spinola Bay or Balluta Bay?
Are there any buses going to the airport?
Any recommendations for taxi service providers?
Thanks!

ilene

Hi Rish,

Yes, there are buses that go to and from the airport.  Taxis cost about 20 Euros from the airport to downtown Sliema.

Rishikesh

Thanks ilene!
I found this bus service from the airports pages:
maltairport.com/page.asp?p=17162
Unfortunately it goes from Valletta, not close to where I live around St. Julians.
Any recommendations for taxi services - or should I just take the white cab?

Hello Rishikesh :)

Your post has been reintroduced as a new thread for better visibility.

At the moment you have to change buses in Valletta ( no 8 )to get to the airport but I think the new bus service provider Arriva might offer a direct service from coming July 2010 onwards.

There is also a private bus transfer from the airport to hotels around Malta and back.Check out maltaairport.com --- airport to hotel shuttle or

maltatransfer.com

I used it once and it worked well.

Otherwise any kind of taxi (white,e-cab ....)

You can call Wembley's for taxi service, they are very good and decently priced too. Just DO NOT take one of the white taxis. They will rip you off! If you have no choice, agree on a price before you get in the taxi and stick to your guns when you get to your destination. They are complete idiots, careless drivers and take advantage whenever they can.

Here's the Wembley's contact info, they are available 24/7- I've used them on many occasions and found that they are great!

Hope this helps!

I have great experience with Wembely too. I use them all the time :)

Thanks for the tips everyone! :)

:lol::lol::lol:

Just renewed my season ticket and am looking forward to the season start............it's got to be better than the previous three that we've had (notwithstanding that fantastic FA Cup win).

Will be keeping my eye on Martinez at Everton this season as the vast majority of us here think that he will get found out.  Nice chap........average manager.

Hi,

I think galenjack was way out of the geographical region but kicking a football all the way to Newcastle seems to be a big task but off topic ! -)))

Hope the new season is more successful- at the moment all have zero points !

Cheers
Ricky
