Hello everybody,

My son received a job offer to work in Taipei.
For a bachelor, what do you think would be a decent starting salary?
He would be product manager in the Tech industry and would travel quite a bit, Asia, Europe, North America.

We are trying to figure out the living expenses. It seems that 20000NTD would do to rent a 1 bedroom apartment.
Then cost of living ect.

Do you think one million to start is OK?

Thank you for your answers.

20,000NT is good for a studio apartment. The  most popular site for housing is rent591.

For starting funds you would need to prepare 3-4 months rent. (80K - 2 months deposit, first month rent, one month as real estate agent commission) Depending if you need to purchase furniture, it would cost an average of 25K for sofa, mattress and a TV.

I spend around 25K on food and entertainment monthly. Total expenses would be around 130K NT for the first month.

I am not certain about starting salary for a fresh graduate.
