Labeling personal belongings being shipped to Ecuador

We are moving in September to Ecuador and am wondering if what I just heard is true about shipping our things from the us have to have labels listing what everything in each box is ? Such as the box can not be labeled just with the word cloth in. Is this true you must list each item?

Hello,

No, the boxes don't have to have the contents in a list. Only a clear big number and maybe your name if you want.
The contents have to be detailed in a packing list. Notice the packing list is one of the most important documents for Customs in Ecuador and it has to be done in a special way. I don't know if you already have a sample of this.
