Hi,

It’s not always easy to decide in which area to settle in when moving to Cyprus. According to you, what are the best cites to live in?

Which regions offer most of the job opportunities, a good quality of life, an affordable cost of living?

Share with us the cities you would recommend to expats and soon-to-be expats in Cyprus.

Thank you in advance,

Julien

My personal opinion would be Limassol.  It has all the benefits of a large City (in Cyprus terms), coupled with businesses including many off-shore and Russian owned.  Rentals islandwide do not differ much.  Limassol has a great nightlife and beach!  People in Limassol are more laid back compared with Nicosia and it definitely possesses greater multiculturalism owing to the fact that it has a very large population of Russian's and is also a popular touris destination due to its excellent hotels and beach.

Larnaca is also nice, but small and not as much to offer as Limassol.  Paphos is definitely a nice place to retire and unwind.  Much lower-paced and popular with British pensioners.

Nicosia, the islands capital is definitely a no go and is labelled "The city that always sleeps" for many reasons.  However, it does host all the embassies, and governmental organizations and many accountancy, insurance firms if this is your field.

In my opinion the most excellent city to live in is Limassol; it is well placed for mainly places in Ky-pros, and is close to the Tudors Mountains. The best way to do things is get some short term accommodation and look for a flat, there are still some low-priced ones around. The most excellent time to visit in September onward. The weather is still quite fine.***
