You would need the following:
* original copy and 2 extra copies of  your marriage certificate (with English translation) legalised/authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Norway. Both the original and photocopies must be authenticated.
* a copy of your husband's passport

Hi Ghingron, I have the same concern, reporting the marriage. We also got married in Norway but I am back in the Philippines where I plan to report our marriage but I don't know where to start, what office to go..

You should have reported your marriage at the Philippine embassy in Oslo. Subsequently, they will forward it to NSO. Since you're already back in the Philippines, then you should report it to NSO yourself. But you need to have  your marriage certificate (English version) authenticated by Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It's probably needed to be authenticated by the Philippine Embassy, Oslo as well.

hi all.

since the marriage was done outside the Philippines, the registration will be thru DFA (department of foreign affairs) and not NSO directly.. DFA after validation of documents, will then have to forward it to NSO.. and it will be called Delayed Registration of Report of Marriage if done thru DFA..

I had answered the same question by lady_diver in another post:

....about reporting your marriage,  this is normally done in the country where the marriage was officiated... That being said, since you got married in Norway, it has to be done in Norway... registration of marriage can be done by either parties, so you can have your husband register your marriage by himself, i will discuss more to it on the next paragraph... but if you want to register it by yourself in the Philippines, you can do this to DFA but this will be called "Delayed Registration of Report of Marriage"... I will provide a link below for the requirements on this registration... either way will work, and it only needs to be done once... The report of marriage is done in 3 copies, i believe this is because original documents goes to NSO (national registry in the PH), one copy goes to the embassy where the marriage happened, and one copy is returned to you.. but if you do it thru DFA while in the Philippines, it will be 4 copies coz DFA will have one copy for their record..

for my case, i reported my marriage while i was here in Norway, and I did it by mail. registration of marriage can be done by either parties, so you can have your husband register your marriage in the Philippine embassy in Oslo, either by mail or in person. which I think will be easier and less complicated since he can acquire all the necessary documents form within here in Norway (since you can just email him scanned copies of your passport and BC)... just check how much requirements there are to late-register a marriage to DFA :P it has 9 requirements as opposed to 4 if done in Phil-Embassy in Norway... he can do it by mail, the payment can be done with an online account via bank transfer. Problem with the embassy website is that it doesnt say on the page for marriage registration what their account number is, so i had to do some browsing on their site to find it..

in my opinion, doing it in Norway is less complicated simply because of less documents that are needed, rather than doing it in the Philippines.. and like Ainos said, if done in the Philippines, all the Norwegian documents have to be translated to English, and then authenticated and legalized by Norwegian authorities... as I've said in the other post, there is no rule about who needs to report the marriage.. either parties can do it... ;) so in my opinion, having your husband do the reporting thru Philippine Embassy in Oslo is so much easier and less complicated... i did mine via mail in Norway, and i got our copy of Report of Marriage after 1 month...

here is the link for the report of Marriage process to Philippine Embassy in Oslo: Report of Marriage - Philippine Embassy in Oslo

the account number to pay if you would register via Mail to Phil-Embassy in Oslo is here: Schedule of Fees - Philippine Embassy in Oslo

but if you want to do it there in the PH and its more convenient for you, check below for the links on the requirement for delayed registration of report of marriage...

here is the link for information if you want to do a "Late Registration of Marriage" in the Philippines: Requirements for Delayed Registration of Report of Marriage  - DFA Philippines
