I want to use jadopado.com to ship a Nikon lens from one of their Hong Kong sellers to Bahrain. I'm just concerned that this will attract some kind of import duty. The lens is worth about BD600.

Any idea how I can find out if this will be a problem?

TIA!

Hi,

according to customs website, anything above 250BHD if it comes under the dutiable items will be held back at Muharraq post office.

This calculator shows a duty of 5% for camera lens in Bahrain.

thanks for the links. The first one was particularly helpful. Almost everything that is subject to import duty will be liable to a 5% charge which isn't so bad.

But I've heard you pay it to the courier who's delivering it, not at the post office.

If not, based on my other thread, I need a trip to Muharraq PO anyway!

Hi

Just happened to speak to Shopandship (aramex), if custom duty (5%) is applicable then we just need to pay it to aramex, they will clear it from customs for us!
