Hello. This is my first post.

I have a shop in Gzira and somebody two doors away has a planning authority permit stuck on his door indicating that he will be opening a confectionery just like mine.

Locals have come to me and told me that this fellow two doors down cannot open within a 100m radius of my shop. Locals have also told me that they are willing to sign a petition against this new store opening. But I have no idea how to go about starting one.

I've never heard of this. I've looked on the planning authority website but have found no mention of it.

Is there any written law that states what he is doing is illegal?

Thanks

Shayne

In Paola, there are 4 pharmacies within 50m of each other so I don't think the 100m rule exists. I am no lawyer though.

Seeing as how apparently your actual ability to survive might depend on the answer, perhaps don't ask a bunch of strangers on the internet?

Ask a professional.
