I am moving to Hamburg in February, and I need to find somewhere that I can stay for at least 6 months. I will be working for deVere, dealing with expats living there, to help them with their savings, investments and pensions etc..

How did you find somewhere to stay, and do you have any tips for me, as I need I would like for my family to be able to stay with me sometimes, so I need a bit of space for them.

Am Kaiserkai 1, 20457 Hamburg is where I will be working, so access to there will be very important for me.

Please let me know if you think you may be able to help me. I speak a little German, and would really like to learn more about the language and the culture of your country.

Thank you, Chris

Hi, I am also currently researching moving to Germany.  One website I find good when you want to rent house or flats is myimmo.de you can find either your own one bedroom apartment or a room in a shared apartment. There is also a Hamburg craigslist. Its hard to organise this without being there. What I'm planning on doing is organising a "zwischenmiete" sub let room for the first month and then looking for somewhere more permanent when I'm there and have a better idea of the good areas.
