Hi everyone,

It is widely agreed that speaking Shona is essential for a successful integration in Zimbabwe. Do you agree? Share your experience!

Do you speak Shona? If so, where did you learn this language? Where can one attend a language course in Zimbabwe?

If not, how do you cope with daily activities? Is it easy to communicate in a different language with Zimbabweans?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I learnt it through attending some colleges.I am now a very fluent shana language speaker.I enjoy using Shona than any other launguages.

I speak Shona but one can still get by speaking English. I find where ever I have been stationed learning local language helps one understand the people and their culture better. It has certainly worked for me and found it fulfilling.

If there are any expats who wish to learn Basic Shona we can certainly arrange for that to happen.
