How do people spend the days in Morocco. It can be boring in England especially with the cold climate. Also can one live quite well on normal earnings

k.loulidi

Hi

In Morocco sûre it's not the same. The first thing the climate i think it's much better. Though we spend two or three months a year little cold but it doesn't matter. Then for the cost of the life it should be much cheaper than England here every thing is cheap. I say that because i have been many times in Europe but unfortunately never in England.
Don't hesitate for any other informations you need to know.

Khalid many thanks. When I have shopped at Asswak Essalam supermarche in Marrakech the prices have seemed like England..In England now I have experienced five months of cold wet nasty weather.

You are 100% right prices in supermarkets are evenmore if not the same as uk i know as i hve been here good few months in marrakech unlike the uk supermarkets are expensive then local shop but again in local shops u dnt the branded items, but again there r always pros n cons of living in anywhere in world. You win some n u loose some. I go to ceuta every few months foe a day and do some shopping there in super sol or lidl which is cheaper. If u need any help in marrakech let me knw plz.

If prices in supermarkets are like the UK how do moroccan people live on modest incomes. I
am told a waiter earns no more than 1000 dhm per month.Surely prices should correlate to incomes.

traveller051216

I knw but waiters dnt go to supermarkets n dnt buy branded items in my opinion. Average income here is 4 to 5k dhms. Most ppl in marrakech are from other parts of the country they come here for work and live basic simple life locals are like locals in london they get by.

But people need to eat so where do they buy food

Mozartbailey

Traveller what are your circumstances if I am not being impertinent.  Are you static in marrakech or roaming

traveller051216

Well i am static atm. And ppl use cheap food they go to local souqs and get cheap fruit n veg lot cheaper then local shops or supermarkets, for example you can buy fruit n veg for £30 to £40 n it lasts u few weeks if not a month. Wht r ur circumstances where abts r u in kech perhaps we can hook up sometime.
