Best place to rent an apartment for a month or two in Barcelona

Hola all,

Coming to Barcelona in May thru July. Advice on renting a flat would be very helpful. It's overwhelming looking on Craigslist, Airbnb, VRBO and other sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated! We are a couple in our 40's escaping the crazy USA! Ideally we budget is $2000.00 per month. We would be open to sharing a place with another couple.

I rented and lived in Barcelona in the 1990s so my answer may not be helpful. First of al it depends on whatbyour interests are.bI worked at the UPC and lived close to camp Nou. That area is fine. I also liked the neighborhood of Gracia, which has more of a small town feel. At the time I lived there Badalona was a bad neighborhood. Generally, apartment pricing is proportional to distance from the nearest metro station (bien comunicado). When I lived there, the Pedralbes neighborhood by the UPC (Technical University of Catalonia) was a somewhat exclusive area. I imagine that apartments there would be more expensive.
