I'm so happy that he's finally gone, and I really hope things change for the better long term :-) Plus I can't wait to be allowed back in the country!

The Londoner

It took tears, courage, strength, patience and a whole lot of koshari and prayers, but it was done. Alhamdulillah... it goes to show that a lot can be achieved with true belief. Alf mabrouk, ya misriyeen!

The impossible has happened and Egypt is going to be an even worse country. some countries are better off without democracy....we will c

The fact that it happened shows that it wasn't impossible, because that small fraction of possibility made it possible. :)

But you're right, we'll have to watch carefully how this pans out.

Its sad for me to hear those words. And i must say i respectfully disagree with your comment and suspect Egypt will now become a truly great country and the global leader it should have always been.

I would like to thank wale publicly for his efforts relating to the Khalid said face-book page.Hopefully this will now allow for justice to follow for Khalid his family and the thousands of others with very similar stories that have yet to be told.

I also want to thank and encourage the good people within Egypt to now stand fast on the rights they have gained and only and always use this power for the good of all the peoples of egypt.

amarakl

thanks for all.it is new age for egypt and Egyptian

human being

This is my prayer for all of us: "May the Most Holy God of Abraham Bless and protect the Egyptian People (and all true peace-loving people) and their courageous attempts to have a more free and democratic government. May Almighty God inspire the military to safeguard a peaceful and tollerant freedom for all Egyptians and their neighbors. May Egypt set the "new standard" for human rights, peace and prosperity, -for all of Africa and the Middle East. May this just peace then spread throughout the whole world. May our Benevolent God establish this peace within all human hearts." (Salam, Shalom, Shanti & Selah! Peace be with you all!)

Proud to be Egyptian
A new era has begun now and soon Inshallah we will gain back our place among great nations.
The youth are eager and extremely full of the well to work to change this country to a better place.
Many Thanks goes to all who supported us in our fight for freedom and sorry that you may had had to leave our country for a while, pleasure to have you back :)

There's a saying that I think befits this: If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all. This negativity isn't doing much good for  a thread that is meant to be congratulatory to those who struggled to get rid of an 82 year old dictator.

I think the 'reality check' that you're trying to provide may be best suited for a new thread. It's not so hard to allow Egyptians to enjoy their moment, is it?

lucienne

As an ex-Egyptian (I am Jewish and my family and I were stripped of our Egyptian nationality by Nasser's government), I want to congratulate the young Egyptians who have had the courage and tenacity to stand up for democracy and freedom from fear.
I send you my best wishes for success in establishing a democratic Egypt and would like to tell you that Jews are not your enemies.  Jews, many of whom lived for centuries in Egypt and in other Arab countries, love Egypt and the Egyptian people.
All the best,
Lucienne

amarakl

this is not an opinion this is the truth the londoner from nigeria :)

suzana

dear andy;

you have sent me many pm"s befor and i told you that i think you are either too old or too young ? and i told you i don"t belive you"r british as i know british are not that petty or ridiculous so who ever you are if you are not egyptian - which i think u r - whatever happens is non of your buisiness .

dear lucienne;

thank you so much for your decent congratulation as i would like to tell you that this story about egyptian hate for jewish is not true it was one of the old egyptian system markting plan to make them feel they"r the only supporters around same as the big fear of moslem brothers, all this is missleading info.
thank you lucienne & all our love to you as well

This is the 1st sign of democracy! People have their own opinion, and they say it!
" Degustibus non disputandum!", and the opinions as soon as they are decent.

Julien

Insults are systematically moderated valibilic, nothing to see with democracy

I have written in my previous post that " if they are decent" and don t disturb people.
But in this way some people find the democracy is, so they just say anything not nice anywhere.
I agree with your decisions.

suzana

as usual julien ; you are always fair, sharp and decent at the same time.
by the way i don"t know why i don"t recive emails about posts reply anymore ? i saw those replys now by accedent & thank you for the great effort you "r doing.

Julien

I really hope that all these changes lead Egypt to a better society.
Now it is the time to be awaken to control changes, as not all changes may be for good. Only half of the work is done, still a lot to do!
Congratulations!
