Divorcing My Egyptian Husband

Post new topic

SoSorry

I am a US citizen living in the UK. I have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. In April I married my Egyptian husband, He is a professional in Egypt, and I have my business in the Uk, and as I have a teenage son by a previous marriage living with me, it was necessary to return to the Uk, with the intention of applying for a spouse visa for my husband to join me in England.
We were married in Cairo, at the Ministry of Justice, and the marriage certificate was legalised and registered at the US Embassy in Cairo.

Since returning to the UK, our relationship has broken down. My husband constantly refuses to answer my calls or texts, and he is often abusive and angry, when I explain that I do not have enough funds to apply for the spouse visa alone.

I fear that the marriage was a sham on his part, for him to gain entry to the UK and feel that divorce is my only option.
I do not want to return to Egypt, as I fear for my safety.
Can anyone offer any advice please.
