I am in a same sex relationship with a french national, we've known each other for 5 years and already in a relationship for 3 years, my girlfriend already went here in philippines and we discussed of how am i going to get a tourist visa, is having a letter of invitation will be a "plus" in getting a tourist visa? And is getting a tourist visa will be really hard for me since ive never been in other country?

Hello Fayelo,
Letter of invitation is one of the requirements to apply a tourist visa from Indonesia; where I come from..I don't know the requirements from Philippines, but if it is not listed, it's always a 'plus' if you have it. And the fact that you've never been out of your country will not define whether it will be easy or hard to get a tourist visa, all you need is at least provide every single documents your embassy will ask you. As addition, you could always provide a bank account statement and a sponsor letter (if these are not in the list).

Don't hesitate to ask more, i'll be available to share you my experience.
Good luck,

Gabrielle

Hi Fayelo, does the application have a section for (something like) who you will be living with? Or perhaps who will cover your living needs? If so, put your girlfriend's info.
If you are worried about your visa being denied because of a same-sex relationship, please relax - France (as you probably know) has this codified in its culture.
I'm not really sure of this, but consider it perhaps? And investigate further? What about a visa with intent to marry/pacs... It's a thought, of course, no pressure ;-)

I don’t know much about the specifics of French immigration law but I think some general advice might be enough. The decision to give a visa is based on some basic factors. They want to know that someone is not a criminal and likely to do something forbidden or smuggle something in. They also want to know that one has enough money to finance their stay, so they don’t resort to illegally working or some other way to get money. They also want to feel secure one will leave when the visa is expired. If one has a good job and residence at home then they assume you will return home afterwards. Someone arriving with no job or residence in their home country will be seen as a risk of trying to work or illegally overstay. So the better the financial situation you can present the better impression it makes. And showing that one has a relative or friend to stay with means that one can visit on a smaller budget. The paradox is that this can suggest that the person might want to stay since they have a place to stay already. That one is gay or lesbian or has not visited other countries is irrelevant.
