Hello all,

I am trying to get an Ikamet. I am an American, and with the recent visa issues, it has been difficult. I completed the application but can not get an appointment. I can get to the appointment page and have tried at least 20 times, it always says there are no appointments. Is there something wrong with the system or is it my citizenship?

Usually the appointment slots for Fatih and Kadıköy district are full.
I would suggest that you try changing location for your appointment.

Dear Xeeschan,
If I may, one question. Can one stay away from Turkey for six months every year if on short term visa?
One government body say YES the other NO. Very confusing!!!!
Can not get an answer on the phone even in Turkish.

Thanks for your replies!!! I tried again and again at different times of the day. I finally got my Ikamet appointment early in the morning. Thanks so much!
