Hi,
Can anyone recommends a decent/ budget transportation option from North Malta to Central Gozo, for 1 Person plus couple of suitcases and some bags ?
Thank you in advance,  :)

How about the public buses and the ferry?

Buses in Malta take you directly to the ferry terminal, the ferry is not expensive if you travel as a foot passenger (in fact, you don't pay at all for the way from Malta to Gozo, only when you go back to Malta), and the buses on Gozo should take you to the centre of the island as they pretty much all go to Victoria.

Alternatively, if you can't carry all your bags, I'd suggest renting a car for a day and going wherever you need to go. But that's more expensive, of course (and you need to have a driving license).

I totally agree with the information previously given it is very easy to get around Gozo by bus, by central Gozo do you mean Victoria?  There is a good regular bus service from the harbour which doesn’t take long to get to anywhere on Gozo as it’s such a small island.

Hi.
Yes, but I ve got lugages, and couple of extra bags, whihc all I can not fit in to just one suitcase, but they come in couple of them, tehrefore I can not do a single ferry yourney, hence I need a car, to pack it all nicely inside, hecne I would need a cab or so, though not the overpriced versions, since I am budgeting. Thank you and Happy 2018 to all of us here !  :)

Where in the north are you? You might want to try Billy's car hire in Mellieha - I haven't used them myself, but heard their prices are ok.

Or maybe Maltatransfer.com
I used them 5 years ago and was satisfied, but it was just an airport shuttle. Can't say if they're still good, or what they charge now, as I usually hire a car when I can't take the bus - in my opinion hiring a car is still the best option.

If you get a taxi to the ferry you can put your cases in the luggage transport container before boarding the ferry and collect it when you get off the ferry in Gozo, then taxi or car hire outside terminal.
Mayjo  car hire in Gozo will drop a hire car to the ferry terminal for you if outside office hours or pick you up from there and take you to their office, for cheap car hire.

Hi, and thnak you so much. Great, i shall contact them. I ve called the regualr taxi, and they wanted to charge me 75EUR. I think it is waaaaaaaaaay overpriced, as I am looking for a budget solution, or possibly someone wiht a car, that is just on the way to gozo, possibly going  back from work, and would not mind picking me up from here, and dropping me off in Victoria center gozo, for a bit of a tip :)

Hi,

while living on Gozo we always used Trust Rent a Car (TRAC Gozo). Very reliable & decent prices, around 30-40 € from airport to Gozo (split transfer!!)

Just a little update re rental cars: I just booked a rental car through holidayautos - 75 euros for 10 days, including extra excess insurance. So yes, 75 euros for a taxi is crazy!
