Hi there,

Which are your 10 favorite places to go out in Istanbul?

Which places would you recommend to newcomers? (restaurants, pubs, discos, theaters, cinemas, concert halls...)

Thanks!

Istanbul has lot of places and each day smthing new is opened. I like Midpoint in Bebek or Nisantasi, or The House Cafe in Ortakoy. Also, i love any place to eat good Manti.

Taksim area and Istiklal avenue is really nice at any time, always full..and i advice u Lebi Derya on the top of Richmond Hotel.

As for having coffe or tea i love Assk Cafe and the narrow streets in Ortakoy.

For party...Reina is so nice...

I have lot of places in mind, but i think u should try ur chance and discover new places apart from these ones that i said.

Hi,
I would recommend Bebek and Ortakoy as well.
I do not know what kind of music you like but you can check out Ghetto to see their events.
In Taksim, Limonlu Bahce and Cezayir Restaurant are some of my favorite places.

best places to party

Nisantasi - is the most in vogue area around winter and all the bars are full more classy then taksim W hotel is also good in the evenings and nice setting, best for weekends

Taksim - Line, Jazzstop, and Halak are all on the same street and are especially good in the week so not just on the weekends these are great places if you like good music and liviely places. best for weekdays

Blak and Reina Ortakoy- start in spring superclubs kinda pricey though.

me and some friends organising events for partying/socialising any xpats drop me a note and will let u dates time im usually out most of the time- :) rock on

Why are most of you writing about Taksim, Ortakoy and Bebek,.... all on the European Side. Even while I live on the European Side, I want to recommend Kadikoy with Moda and its music- and cultural area. It is less crowded than the European Side, certainly smaller and with a more relaxing atmosphere. Not to forget Caddebostan.

Hi there i dont really think there is a such good place for strangers rather than BEBEK places.

Bebek is not my thing. I rather visit the Galata-area and Tunel (the last one is already overcrowded). Don't forget the Nargile-area in Tophane. look for the small diamonds between the silver.

I'm not going to recommend any places as such. If you go to Istanbul without indulging in all the amazing street food, then you've missed out on the joy of Istanbul!

well.. since there is no account for tastes, arbitrary choices also turn out to be great! So there is no point restricting oneselves ..one thing about Taksim though I shall be blunt and say Taksim is a cosmopolitan place and I personally love it..there is a place called Araf rather unusual if you like

emrerich

Camlica is the best for breakfast and it s very very cheap.i live in besiktas, and not alot of people know Yahya Efendi.it s also nice place, and yildiz ...

I live in Taksim for 6 years now. Last month I was(for the first time) in the Araf on a weekday night. And it was really great. The band was doing a good job and the members created a good ambiance.
By accident I visited a tiny cafe(just 8 seats)in my neighbourhood; cosey, good coffee, nice music and yet not discovered by the´Cihangir jetset´.

Hey did you ask about night clubs? :D

There are plenty of nice clubs in Istanbul... It all depends on what kind of vogue you prefer...but here are some ideas...In Ortakoy, SupperClub, Anjelique, Black, Mix, Reina and Sortie

In Taksim plenty of different style bars cafes and restaurants

In Nisantasi, reasurans spot has some cafes, naming some, ( Stnbl,Gate, Melon24, Zihni)

In Bagdat street on Anatolian side you can also find plenty of bars and cafes...

I hope this was helpful...Let me know if you need further help...;)

It is totally depends on what you are looking for. I will suggest some of places to taste authentic Turkish cuisine, Haci Abdullah (near Aga Mosque/Taksim), Konyali (Sirkeci), Konyali (Kazasker), Kanaat (Uskudar), Beyti (Florya), Tike (lots of branch), Gulluoglu (Karakoy).

I m very jealous of those living in Istanbul... :(
