Hello All,

I am moving to Cyberjaya in next month. I just want to know if 6500 Malaysian ringgit is enough to have good amount of saving in Cyberjaya. As I am single and housing is provided by company, so I just want to know what will be the tax amount and what will be the approx other expenses and how much I can save per month in Cyberjaya.

Non resident tax will be 28% flat rate deduction (first 182 days)

Resident rate will be around RM400 per month

If you have to pay utilities, internet, phone, water etc. that will be RM500 per month

Food and Dining RM1000-1500 per month

Transport RM350

So I can save around 4000 Malaysia ringgit.

Tax will be RM1820 for first six months then RM400 per month.

Max will be RM4k

You may need to add extra for entertainment - Cyberjaya is also very dull place to live and a bit cut off so you may need a contingency for that.

Just to add, you will pay income tax on your accommodation value as it is a benefit in kind.
