I'm planning to visit Singapore by the end of this May. What are the things that I should plan well in advance. Please can someone explain everything step by step. Thank you.

Since it is unlikely that you find a job during a visit (especially if it is only a month or less), you should do as much homework as possible beforehand (e.g. finding out who the relevant potential employers in Singapore are, what they do and need, and their recent hiring focuses) and contact them, mentioning the time of your visit and that you're available for interviews then.

Which is better for job seekers, Tourist Visa or Social Visit pass.

Both can be extended maximum up to how many days?

What are the documents needed for Social Visit pass?

They are the same thing: Officially it’s called SVP, and tourist visa in colloquial terms.
An SVP can be extended up to 90 days, but you need a very good reason (job search is NOT eligible!) for staying much longer than the average visitor (3.5 days).
