Hi,

My fiance is working in Yanbu and I am considering moving out there with our 3 year old son. (Obviously when we are married) Culd any one give me some advice as to what life is like there for a british women and also what are the schools like? Can women work?

Thanks

SaudiUK

Yanbu is small industrial city in the Madinah province.

There are a significant number of expats working in Yanbu for the petrochemical industry.

There are some lovely housing compounds which have excellent facilities.

Life is generally relaxed, there are anumber of schools (English language and UK curriculum is available)

Other than Yanbu being a relatively small city, you wont have any issues.

Temperature in Yanbu is very favourable (compared to Riyadh).

I am sure you will enjoy Yanbu, the expat community will make you feel at home.

Nothing to fear...:)

Welcome to the forum! and yes like Saudi Uk has put it, Yanbu is more expatriate friendly place when compare to Riyadh because of the alrge no. of foriegn workers in the many projects that are happening over there. Hope you have a good time here when you do decide to fly down.
