I am not in the Netherlands yet, but I have some questions about welfare system and I would like to contact the officials using email to ask some questions, however I cannot find a place to do that...

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Assuming you are asking about welfare benefits, these are in general administered by the Dutch Tax department (Belastingdienst); this link will take you to there webpage.

To contact them, these details are also on their website; this link will take you there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links, but I already was there, and the site doesn't have any email addresses or contact forms that I could find (at either links). This is the reason for this post. Maybe I am missing something? If I am, it would be great if you could help me out with this.

Hi again,

I've looked through it and can't find any e-mail contacts or specific information.

From the little I know about claiming welfare benefits in Holland (you'll realise why in a minute); in general, if you've worked in Holland for at least 12 months, you begin to be entitled to claim welfare benefits.   I know I wasn't entitled to any when I first went there (they even printed it on my residence card!) and that those who were entitled to them, that they are pretty much earnings related and based on your previous work history (including your previous record from where you lived in the previous working year); these all being linked by your DigiID - which you won't have if you don't live in Holland.

You should also be aware that residence permits (even for EU citizens) can be withdrawn and you be sent back to your home country if you're deemed as being dependent on the state; in other words, you can't expect to live off the state.

Apart from this, I don't think I can help you much more.  If you have any specific questions, please come back to me and I'll try and help.
