Possibilities for EP holder in getting long-term visa for SingleParent

Hi All,

I am holding Employment Pass in Singapore and recently my father passed away. Because of that, I am in a position to bring my Mother to Singapore to stay with me for long term. I have checked the Long-Term Visit Pass option, but I am not meeting the minimum salary criteria.

Are there any other options we can try? like getting a recommendation from a local MP(not sure whether MP will hear the problems from foreigners) Please let me know. Or any other ways we can try considering my case? Please guide me with your valuable inputs. Thanks.

To join you long term, your mother needs a valid residence visa.
If LTVP (the obvious choice made for your situation) is not possible, she must get one on her own merit.
That means she must either work or study here, or marry a local/PR/residence visa holder with the required income.
There will be no exceptions made, even if an MP intervenes (which is anyway unlikely).

Sad to hear about your case. But, sorry to say this country has set up rules which sometimes as cruel as like this.

In simple terms, if minimum requirements didn’t meet, then she can visit but won’t stay beyond 90 days. She has to go back then spending few weeks at relatives place then she can comeback again. Good luck

Note: No use of influence of ministry or any Govt officials here.
