Healthcare Assistant Hiring Advice

Post new topic

Hi everyone! This is my first post so please be gentle!  I am in need of advice for hiring someone to sit overnight with a comatose relative once or twice a week. I don't really need a medically trained person but a CARING and RELIABLE person. We will train all of the duties, checking vitals, turning, feeding, changing diaper etc. of our mother.

I'm not sure what kind of salary should be paid or where I should seek candidates. The shift would be a 12 hour overnight shift. Located in the Surigao City area. I would appreciate ANY advice and recommendations. Thank you in advance! :thanks:

Family first would probably be my first response.  Then after that a friend of the family.

For wages, if you are not supply accommodation and food, then around 5,000php to 7,000php a month for a non skilled worker.  For a skilled worker Care Giver, around 10,000 to 12,000php a month.  If they live in with free board and food, then of course the wages would be reduced.

Consider that a fully qualified nurse, after 4 years of study and paying fees, gets about 15k to 20kphp per month in a hospital.

One day off a week is also required.

One thing to remember is do not overinflate the price, it creates problems for others  (not just foreigners but also locals), as the next worker will want to be paid what you are paying your worker, then the poor cannot afford this type of help.

Thanks for the info, I'm wondering about daily rat for 12 hour shift only 1 or 2 nights per week.
