Sending amazon from UK to hanoi

Hi,

Sent a pair of 40gbp headphone from UK.

DHL was 35 gbp.. Then customs held it and wanted 20pc customs and 10pc vat. Also DHL wanted 195000 for the customs declaration. Whatever that meant.

There a 1m vnd item ended up cositng more like 2 million.

Is there anyway to use amazon to send it directly?

Strangely I sent a DHL box the week before just clothes and vitamins and it wasn't held in customs. Even though that also had a value of 40gbp.

Anyone understand the procedure?

Depends a lot on the product yiu are sending. All DHL consignments are subject to customs clearance. The best option would be royal mail tracked using the CN22 form for the declaration. As low value items are permitted upto a certain value.

Failing that find someone flying UK to VN with luggage space that can carry on a commercial flight then simply post within VN

You will discover that shipping anything commercially is a crap shoot at best.
Not just to Vietnam, but pretty much across any customs border.
Which is why Amazon does not directly ship themselves.

Actually Amazon do ship to Vietnam but it depends on the product. As a lot of items are restricted

Yep. If it's made it Vietnam, they will ship it to you.
