Need Help, US citizen moving to Portugal

How do I start? What do I need to stay in the country past 90 days?? Do I apply for this while I am in US or wait until I arrive. New to forum, please help me.

Are you looking to move for couple of months or permanently? As far as I know if you want to stay more than 90 days as your visa allows, you should get a different visa
