about my visa application process

Post new topic

NAVYA SATHYA

Hi!
This is Navya from India. I had applied for long term visa to Belgium on 19/12/2018 via Visa-D reunion with a non-EU spouse residing in Belgium. I received a mail from Mumbai consulate on 27/12/2018 that my visa application is on hold. Few days later , i mailed to info desk about my query regarding visa process. Yesterday i got the reply stating they have received my visa application and it would take 9 months(maximum 15 months) to give me a decision :(
Meanwhile , when i tracked my visa on DOFI after reading the mail , it shows that the application has not been received yet. So im confused and tensed about the status, It would be very nice if anyone could guide me through this.

Thanks for the help :)

ok...Even mine is on hold. i applied last week. They asked for Overstay explaination from me. I travelled last time having visa date from 31 May 2016 to 14 Aug 2016. I was there between that time but there was duration of stay also mentioned in Visa i.e60 days which my old company missed. so overstayed by 12 days. I have submitted explaination letter still showing on hold.

Has been discussed a million times in old threads in the forum. This is very normal. your application will take time. It will take time to start showing status in DOFI website.

This is the standard reply .. it can take up to 9 months.

In our case too, we got scared of this 9 months msg, but later it came within 2 months.  On an average it could take around 3 months.

Good luck

Thanks for the information. A sigh of relief.

Is there chances of 9 months delay?

Mostly no.. it depends on their workload.
