Best way to get to Snagov monastery?

I am planning to visit Snagov when I am in Bucharest, is it hard to get there by bus? Is it better to rent a car? And where do I drive/take to bus to get to the boats to the monastery?

Maykal

I've never done it personally but a quick search on the net shows that there is a bus company who runs a service between Bucharest and Snagov.

According to their site, buses leave at about every two hours from Piata Presei Libere (in the north of Bucharest) and the trip takes an hour. First bus out is at 05.20, last one back leaves Snagov at 22.35.

They don't have any price info on their site so I can't tell you the cost. These small private bus companies aren't usually too expensive though, it's probably not more than a few Euro each way. Sometimes you can book in advance, but mostly they operate on a 'turn up at the bus stop and see if you can get a place' basis.

Here's their link:

There might be other companies running the route too.
