If i can come to Hungary from Romania

Hello everyone

I am non-eu resident in Romania, me and my romanian wife we want to visite friends in hungary.

they told me if i go with my wife and have with me my residence permit of Romania and proof that she is my wife, I can travel to Hungaria without visa.

Can anyone please light me in this.

I think you can travel but why don't you ask the HU embassy in Bucharest to be sure?

no -EU Students in Debrecen near Romania pass through without problems so it should be possible other way around, but sometimes you can wait for 1-2 hours at border until the officer make up his mind & call the Embassy as fluffy2560 suggested.
