Can you receive television with a basic antenna in the Philippines or do you need a satellite dish or cable?  Is there English speaking television?

Simply Google ' Broadcast Television in the Philippines' ...   Everything you need to know will be found here....

In Ilocos Sur cable is 1,000 pesos/month, about $20 US.  The cable has CNN, BBC, ABC (Australia) news and other sports channels.  There are movie channels and oldies channels all in English.  The sports include an NBA channel with at least 2 games live every morning and taped games later.  One channel is all Tagalog talk shows but has the Thurday, Sunday and Monday night NFL games on live Friday, Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Broadcast television would most likely be limited to the local channels, which most likely would be in Tagalog.

For English language go with cable, the cost is reasonable.
