Student residency and PR

Post new topic

Good afternoon
I'm planning to start a Bachelor's degree in October in Malta and will be visiting Malta next week to check the place out.

I have looked through previous posts regarding living in Malta as a student and whether that time counts for permanent residency. I can't seem to find a definite answer. Neither could I find anything online. Since I'm visiting anyway, is there a legal or governmental entity I can go to where I can find this information?

And how does it work usually? Do you just show up there and get a number to see a representative or you have to get an appointment beforehand?

Many thanks for your help.

I would suggest you visit Maltagov.com . Government website is comprehensive in visiting, studying and migrating issues. If you want to study at Malta University you should have Maltese language.

If you referring to STATUS OF LONG-TERM RESIDENTS then refer to the law:
http://www.justiceservices.gov.mt/Downl … 60&l=1

"These regulations shall not apply to third country nationals who reside in Malta:(a) in order to pursue studies or vocational training"
