Is there a need for educators? I have been employed as a teacher in Manitoba for 25 years. I am considering an adventure for my last few years before retirement

Yes there is a need.
BUT you are unlikely to get employment in Belize as a teacher.
Were you by some stroke of luck able to get through all the hoops for employment permits and get a position here the salary would be less than $1000 US per month, and Belize while being cheaper overall than the US it is not actually inexpensive to live here Unfortunately Belize is too poor to afford expats the luxury of well paid employment. Sorry not trying to be mean just saying how it is.
